World Heritage Awarding Ceremony and Intangible Heritage Performances

Genlin World Heritage Awards Presentation Ceremony
GHWF presented award to 3 winners who have exceptional contributions to the World Heritage, in order to recognize their achievements.

Conservation Award
Recipient: 中國聯合國教科文組織協會全國聯合會副秘書長、北京市聯合國教科文組織協會副主席丁紅宇先生
Presenter: 亞太地區聯合國教科文組織協會聯合會主席陶西平先生
Promotion Award
Recipient: 中國著名學者型攝影家、中國攝影雜誌專欄主筆、中國電子工業出版社藝術總監周梅生先生
Presenter: 黨組書記、中國攝影家協會執行主席李前光先生
Development Award
Recipient: 香港青年聯會總幹事袁淦麟先生
Presenter: 玄陵世界遺產基金會副理事長黃淑嫻女士

 

Intangilbe Cultural Heritage Performances
In 2001, UNESCO established the "Intangible Heritage". Currently there are 90 intangible properties inscribed. Urtiin Duu-Traditional Folk Long Song, Kunqu Opera, the Art of Guqin Music of China and the Uyghur Muqam of Xinjiang are inscribed on the list. During the event night, GWHF invited many different speical performers to show the essence of the intangible properties as below.

 

Urtiin Duu - Traditional Folk Long Song
Proclamation: 2005
The Urtiin Duu is one of the major forms of Mongolian songs. As a grand ritual form of expression associated with important celebrations and festivities, Urtiin Duu plays a distinct and hounoured role within Mongolian society.

The Art of Guqin Music
Proclamation: 2003
The chinese zither, called the Guqin, represents China's foremost solo musical instrument tradtiion. Guqin playing developed as an elite art form practised by noblemen and scholars in intimate settings. The art of Guqin combines a vast repertory of refined melodies and playing techniques, complex symbolic significance and unique methods of notation and oral transmission.

Kunqu Opera
Proclamation: 2001
Kunqu opera with its origins dating back to the Ming dynasty (14-15 century). It has distinguished itself by the virtuosity of its rhythmic patterns (changqiang) and has exerted a dominant influence on all the more recent forms of opera in China. Kunqu is accompanied by string, wind and percussion instruments.

The Art of Uyghur Muqam of Xinjiang
Proclamation: 2005
Xinjiang Uyghur Muqam is a compostie of songs, dances, folk and classical music and characterized by diversity of content, dance styles, musical morphology and instruments used. "Twelve Muqam" is one of the most famous Muqam.
